In December 2011 Ethan said Goodbye 2011 and Hello to 2012! What a big year it has been, so busy and big changes in store for 2012 when Ethan moves to big school. But right now, he is not thinking about all the changes to come, he is just relaxing, enjoying the holidays and the Australian Summer...===========================================
Ethan brought in the new year as he has the last few on Fairlight beach with his Mum and Dad. It's a very popular spot these days and you have to get in early to see the 9pm Manly fireworks. Yes, there is a big bridge around the corner that some people think sets off the best light show but Ethan knows Manly is the place to be!
Above with Mum & Dad and below with just Mummy (showing off our tats - thanks Pa & Ma), before the sun went down on NYE.
Let's step back a bit though because we cannot forget the very important day before Ethan celebrated the arrival of 2012, Christmas of course. It seems Ethan was a good boy and he was very happy to see all of the presents that Santa had left for him.
Daddy had a new rule this year, Ethan could only open one present at a time... torture Mummy thought but Ethan was very good and enjoyed, opening, building and playing with each toy as it was opened through out the day.
Later that day...
With a quick break to the beach of course. Did Ethan mention it is summer here? Well yes it is and the weather took it's time to arrive but the holidays proved to be the best weather this summer has shown us yet, very lucky we are!
Christmas dinner (or lunch - actually the food kept coming and it lasted all afternoon...) included two good friends, Noriko and Jules. We bought the sign just in case Jules had too much to drink and forgot where she was :-)
More toys, more building, more playing...
For those that remember last months blog and Ethan's new pets, don't you worry, they were not forgotten. Santa brought Ethan a ZuZu pet fighting stadium but Ethan brought Scrappy and Yoda in for a play in it (no fighting of course - just playing).
It wasn't all just new fangled toys and fancy store bought gifts, check out this castle Daddy and Ethan made with the left over paper, boxes and a bit of paint. Talented boys!
New Years Eve and Christmas day done, what happened the rest of December you may ask? Well, of course there was the annual IBM Company day at Luna Park. This year Ethan played the games and won some dice.
Yes, Mummy has put on a bit of weigh but don't say anything to her, she's a bit sensitive about it...
Luna Park, an old favorite, gotta love that famous entrance arch!!!
Swimming lessons are in full force with it being summer, 2 lessons a week Ethan has been doing. His favorite lesson of course is the one he has with Tristan in Tristan's pool.
Boxing day saw the start to the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race up at Tania park this year.
