July 2011

In July 2011 Ethan had some visiting pets. Ethan's good friend Tristan went on holiday to the UK for 3 weeks and left Ethan in charge of his two Guinea Pigs, Snowflake and Patch (can you guess which is which?). Ethan took great care and was most excited every morning, insisting that he got up, dressed and fed the piggies before he had his own breakfast.

Ethan invited his friend from Daycare Mitchell around to help out with one of the feedings. Those Guinea Pigs ate us out of house and home when it came to celery!

The GP's lived at the side of the house (by the garage) most of the time but came for a visit into the garden one afternoon. Ethan sure loved the visiting pets and was sad to see them go back to Tristan's house. He is hoping that he will some be getting some of his own...

Over the school holidays Ethan's friend Floyd (moved to Byron last year) came back for a visit in Manly. Floyd may be living in Byron and has started school but it was just like old times when these two buddies caught up for a play at Manly beach. It's that time of year so Ethan, Mum and Dad have been up to North Head trying to spot the migrating whales. Daddy was pretty excited to see a water spout a couple of km from land but it was hardly a 'whale sighting' and pretty boring if you ask Ethan.

Ethan helped his friend Tyson celebrate turning five at a very cool Gymnastic Birthday party. Lots of hanging, swinging and bouncing, it was good fun.

And after years of trying, FINALLY, Ethan mastered the monkey bars at the party, he was a very proud boy! He figures the reason he was able was that these bars were closer together than the local park he has been trying (and trying) at but it was just in his mind. We went back to that park this week and he manged those bars as well. Ethan truly was a 'little monkey' this month :-)
