June 2011

In June 2011 Ethan Celebrated another Canada Day. Not REALLY June because everyone knows Canada day is July 1st but everyone also knows that Ethan's months run from the 3rd because that is the day he was born on so according to Ethan, he celebrated Canada Day in June 2011 :-) He celebrated a day late in fact, Daddy would not let him have pancakes and sausages for dinner so the traditional Canadian meal was eaten on Saturday morning, July 2nd but it was still Canada day in Canada so that's allowed (we think). Canada day never was this complicated to explain before???

During the month Ethan enjoyed some special school days, including soft toy pet day, Teddy bear day, Olympic day, Farmer day and Ethan's favorite Pirate day, Ahoy there me Hearties! Ethan does love any chance to dress up so Nathan's 'Super hero' Birthday party was another opportunity to pull out the tickle trunk (a Canadian thing - only they will remember Mr Dress Up...) and put on his Robin costume. No Batman in sight but Superman and Robin has a nice ring to it as well, doesn't it?
Here's Robin in full action chasing those other Super Hero's around the play ground!

Ethan had Tristan round for a sleep over, after a full day at school, burgers, a movie and popcorn, they slept like babies. Tristan is off to England to visit his family next month so the boys had lots of playing to stock up on before he went away. Tristan has trusted Ethan with the care of his Guinea Pigs while he is away, I am sure there will be some stories in next months blog on the pig caring.

Last but not least this month, Ethan has started up again in his swim lessons. The exciting part, 2 weeks into the lessons and already he has been promoted to a level 4 swimmer! I guess those summer lessons with Peta really did the trick, he will be swimming with the school kids next month. All will be 'level 4' but they could be up to 7 years old, Ethan is very excited but says he's a little bit shy and nervous as well. We know that he will do great!
