Forty Ninth Month

In Ethan's Forty Ninth Month he really got stuck into his running! We mentioned a few months back that he had been training but this month he finally did his big race AND enjoyed it so much... he did a second two weeks later.

Above is a shot of Ethan at the start of the Mothers day Classic, a 4km walk/run that helps to raise funds for breast cancer. Below you can see him before the start with Mummy, Daddy, Nicky and Sarah, getting ready and warmed up for the big race. He took off like a shot and ran the first 1km then gave in to the pain and relented to a walk but finished the full 4km on his own steam, what a star!Here he is crossing the finish line, looking pretty fresh I might add that #5864 runner...
Then a shot with Mummy & Daddy after the finish, with medals on, very proud indeed!

Ethan's 2nd race was the Manly fun run and this time he did 5km (!!!). He used the same tactics though, sprinting that first 1km and pacing himself for the last 4... he managed to get in just under the hour at 59:08, a target now for next years Manly fun run.

Other events in the month included Tom's 4th Birthday party, Ethan had his face painted in full bat paint and had a blast running around Clown town with Tom and his Friends. Mum & Dad did manage to get him to sit for a quick family photo below...

I think he was fed up with the photos by the time this one was taken though...Ethan especially enjoyed one of the weeks at school this month, the week they attended in 'pajamas, pedicure & manicures'. He wore pj's for one weeks straight, how excellent is that! And if you check out the photo below you will see the cool black nail polish he bought. Mummy really enjoyed the week as well, finally, she got to paint some little fingers and toes (something she doesn't usually get to do with a boy...) :-)

Unfortunately that is it for this months photos as the family camera is not working very well. Hopefully it will be fixed next month as Ethan has started up swimming lessons again, the Manly food and wine festival is on, the Queens Birthday long weekend is coming and who knows what else could be in store for Ethan's 50th month...
