Fortieth Month

In Ethan's Fortieth Month he finally got to celebrate the Canada day he missed out on in July! At school they had an 'outrageous outfit' week where everyone came in every day in the most outrageous outfit they could find. Ethan soon got into the week, waking at 5:30 each morning to dig through his 'tickle' trunk (box full of dress up clothes from a old kids show in Canada for those that don't know...) and decide what he would wear that day. He went one day in his lion costume, one day as an elf, one day all in blue (including blue hair and make-up), then of course there was the photo above, the day he went as a 'Crazy Canadian'. He enjoyed the week so much it took 2 days into the following week to convince him not to be outrageous... on the Monday he insisted on wearing his wizard outfit because he had not worn that one yet.
At the beginning of the month Mummy had a Monday off work so Ethan invited his friend Floyd to join him and Mummy at Taronga Zoo. Mummy did her best to get a photo of the boys with some real live animals but could not get the boys to stay still long enough for a photo so this was the best she could do.
Ethan enjoyed another friends Birthday party, this time he celebrated with Amelie at Playplanet. Look how fancy the food was, they had basketball courts, a 'real' bus, a moving dinosaur, lots of climbing, jumping AND they were playing Ethan's favorite music, Michael Jackson! Amelie's party was 'Bad'!
For the 2nd time, Ethan took part in Sydney's 'City2Surf' fun run. He did not partake last year but this year he and Daddy managed to complete the 14km course from Hyde Park to Bondi beach in just under 2 hours! Ethan was a little sore the next day, Mummy met him and Daddy at the finish line and forced Ethan to actually get out of the pram and RUN across the finish line himself, it was hard work, don't know how Daddy managed the ENTIRE walk!
On Friday's after swimming lessons, Ethan is now taking part in 'Soccer for Tots' and really getting into it. Above you can see him have a good stretch to warm up (very important you know!). Below, him and his friend Thomas are practicing some passing.
But then the best part of all, the game started and they let Ethan...
Play in goals!!!

Before he know it the game was over and we are not really sure what the score was??? Ethan was convinced the ball never got passed him, not while he was looking any how (which was most of the game...). Then it was time to shake hands, Ethan knew this part very well after his time in Canada, one, two, release!
Finally Ethan convinced Mummy and Daddy to take him to the dinosaur museum this month, he just loves his dinosaurs, T-Rex is his favorite by the way but he knows them all... When he got the the museum though the real life size dinosaurs were a bit scary, Ethan preferred these little play ones, just like he has at home. He lined them up and gave them a good talking too it looks like here.
Ethan is growing up you know so Mummy and Daddy are trying there best to get him to be more independent, for example, he really should be dressing himself by now. How do you think he did this morning? It wasn't even Outrageous dress up day at school this week... after a few adjustments, he usually gets it right but thought he was very funny this morning.

Last but not least, 2 weeks before the end of the regular season, FINALLY, Ethan got to see his rugby league team play, go Manly SeaEagles! It was very close, the SeaEagles played terribly but none of that matters... a try in the last minute gave them the win at 18-16 and Ethan cheered as the Sharks hung their fins in shame. Ethan sure loved the game, Daddy however had trouble focusing while trying to answer all of Ethan's questions, why? why? why? So many questions going through our little boys mind...
Ethan even got his photo taken with his favorite player, the mascot :-)
The exciting game sure wore him out though, he fell straight asleep on the car ride home, but don't worry, he never let go of his popcorn!
