Thirty Seventh Month

In Ethan's Thirty Seventh Month, after only 3 swimming lessons, he has been moved up to the 'stage 2' swim class, what a star! OK so he had a slow start with swimming, a few set backs with water being too cold and ear infections but looks like he is ready to go this time. So you may be thinking what is a 'stage 2' swim class... well, it means Mummy or Daddy do not have to go in the pool with him (Yippee, no more cold pool!), he goes in on his own (above). OK, so there is a teacher close by and he is wearing a bubble on his back but it won't be long before he is lapping his parents in the pool now that he is back on track with his swimming!

Last month there were lots of Birthday celebrations but Ethan's celebrations had not finished by the time the blog was published, he had not had his 'parents group' party yet, these were his first and are his oldest friends. Here they all are, now 3 years old, eating a yummy pink pig cake compliments of Linda (no swine flu jokes please...).Some very exciting news in May from #4 @ 3 Woods Parade, Ethan's neighbour Elly's baby sister arrived a month early! Ethan & Elly made a special dinner for the two families to celebrate, they made pizzas for us all.
Then posed for a photo with baby 'Pinky Pink'. OK, so that is the name Elly has given her sister, her Mum and Dad have named her 'Jasmine Jennifer'. We can see where Elly gets the name she chose for her sister, Jasmine is looking awfully pink in that outfit... and adorable, only one week old in this shot.June 1st was the start of Winter here in the Northern Hemisphere and the weather has certainly changed. This photo taken on the one day in the month that did not rain... with Ethan walking along Sydney streets through the leaves, reminded Mummy of Montreal. We don't see a lot of leaves where we live with most of the trees being evergreen. Here is Ethan in the carport, protected from that pouring rain we told you we have been having (just in case you did not believe us!). The weather did bring in some serious surf, 4 meter waves, Mummy is just glad Ethan is not wanting to get out there surfing in them yet... we watched from the beach and they looked VERY scary. With so much rain we spent a lot of our weekends enjoying indoor activities. Another trip to the Powerhouse museum and Ethan was helping out in 'Zoe's playhouse' construction yard. And in this trip to the museum he go to try on a Space suit! Ethan found this poster in the month and thought it looked interesting so Dad picked up the tickets and off we went to Ethan's first play, Gruffalo. He had not read the book and was a little worried when he heard there was a monster in the play...
Silly old Ethan doesn't he know, "there is no such thing as a Gruffalo" is how the story goes but this sure looks like a Gruffalo in the photo Mummy got during the show...

Ethan did enjoy the show very much, sat in the comfort of his Dad's lap mind you... he even bought the book and takes it to bed with him each night to read to himself once Mummy and Daddy have said good night. He is growing to be an independent boy, can read his books all by himself now, even complains when there aren't enough pages to read!
