Thirty First Month

In Ethan's Thirty First Month he went camping with Mummy and Daddy again. In fact, he went camping again to the exact same spot in Myall Lakes National Park that he did last month! He enjoyed the last trip so much but did not feel he had seen enough of the area, so went for a second round. It was well worth it, the sunsets were amazing, the water in the lake was calm and warm for swimming and this time Mummy and Daddy agreed to hire a 'tinnie' (small motor boat) so he actually got out cruising around the lake for a better view.

Of course at the end of the day... that big ol' tent house sure was cumfy and Ethan was out like a light in record time, didn't even last through his usual bed time story book...

Right at the beginning of this month, Ethan asked Mummy for some undies. Two days later he went to the shops with Mummy and bought lots of cool undies (Bob the builder, Thomas the tank, Wiggles...). Since then, he only wears undies during the day, Ethan will happily tell everyone and anyone "I BIG boy now, I don't need nappies".During the month at home, FINALLY... Daddy put some fish in the tank that Ethan bought him for Fathers day (back in May...). You know what Ethan's Dad is like, he has had to research and make sure he was getting the best tank, the best filter, the best rocks, the best plants, the best water (?). So finally, in Ethan's Thirty First month... Ethan and Daddy picked out THE BEST FISH, WooHoo!!! There are six (Neon tetra's) and they seem to be settling in well so Ethan may even be getting a few more fish next weekend.
During the month at school Ethan had his usual theme days, one of which was 'Melbourne cup' day. The Melbourne Cup is Australia's annual thoroughbred horse race and is billed as The race that stops a nation (stops them from getting any work done...). Mummy and Daddy had to dress up for work in their hats and race day outfits so Ethan did the same and wore his bowler hat and bow tie. You may notice he is still clinging to his Halloween spider, this was only two days after his Halloween Party... so he may look a little Adams Familyish :-)

Well the count down has started and Ethan sure is excited this year now that he fully understands what happens at Christmas (Santa comes!). Ethan has started his decorating with a Christmas village and has already sent of his letter to Santa. Ethan's tree will of course be put up by Santa on Christmas Eve but Ethan is enjoying all of the trees that are popping up around the town. Only 20 days to go and counting...
Before writing his blog this evening Ethan was busy baking mini pizza for his Daycare Christmas party (tomorrow night!). Ethan still loves to cook, squashing those little pizzas were good fun :-)Ethan has been practicing for his School show all month but was sworn to secrecy so Mummy and Daddy cannot wait to see his special show and will be sure to share some photos in next months blog. Some sad but a little happy news on Ethan's Daycare this month... Finally after being on a wait list for 2.5 years, he has been accepted into a local Day care called the 'Round House'. It will mean leaving all of the wonderful carers and great friends that Ethan has made but he hopes to stay in touch with them all. On the happy side his new Daycare will be much closer to home so he will not be travelling as far every day and he will be making lots of new friends closer to home. So it will be a sad Goodbye to ABC childcare on December 31st but a new start to 2009 at the Round House!
