In Ethan's Eleventh Month he has enjoyed the start of the Australian Autumn and more travels with his Auntie Yvonne. He had two weekends out of town, this past weekend he had his first camping experience in Jervis Bay, 3 hour drive South of Sydney. With 2 x 2 men tents, Mum and Yvonne shared one while Ethan and Dad shared the other. Mum and Dad were a little worried how Ethan would do sleeping in a tent but he did just fine. It was Dad that looked a little jaded the next day as Ethan very much enjoyed snuggling up and keeping Dad awake through most of the night while he slept. While in Jervis bay we camped out at Caves Beach and toured the area on foot. Ethan squeezed in a quick skinny dip (below) before we had to head back to Sydney on Sunday afternoon.
Ethan wasn't even fazed by the kangaroos through out the campground but Auntie Yvonne was impressed with her first wild Kanga's (check out the background of the photo below).

The second weekend away was with just Mum and Yvonne to the Blue Mountains. We stayed in a hotel in Katoomba and did a few hikes. The first day Ethan was on Mum's back while they hiked the Three Sisters (famous rock formation) route and on day 2 Mum's back was a little sore so Yvonne took over while they hiked Leura Cascades. Ethan thought both hikes were pretty easy!

Back at home Ethan is growing quickly and developing his gross motor skills. We have not had a chance to do an official weigh-in but just know that he is getting VERY heavy. In the photo below he is wearing a pair of PJ's that he last wore in the spring, we had to cut the feet off so that he would fit and as you can see they now ride up to his knees. Ethan is waving (at everyone and anyone), clapping and can climb back down the stairs once he has climbed up. He is so confident with this new down climbing skill that he believes he can climb down off anything he likes including the bed or the change table, he has no concept of height just yet... His 7th tooth has come through this month and he is standing for minutes at a time but still not walking without the aid of a kitchen chair to push along in front of him. Maybe before the next update, we will have to wait and see.
