Fifty Forth Month

At the very end of Ethan's Fifty Forth Month he celebrated Melbourne cup day in style. For those that don't know, the Melbourne cup is Australia's major horse race billed as The race that stops a nation! Ethan enjoyed the race but mostly enjoyed wearing his homemade race day hat, he must have inherited his had loving gene from his Gramma Sparkle, how fitting that the race falls in the month of her Birthday.

Ethan celebrated his 5th Halloween this month. This year going as batman to his school disco, he invited a date, Elly - his ex neighbor. He had not seen Elly since she moved so it was lovely to see her again, it was a great party with 'bop 'till you drop' DJ'ing, shame it fell on Friday night after a busy week and he only lasted till 8pm...
The weather... well what can Ethan day, he may as well be living in Calgary from what he has heard! If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes is their logo well this spring has been very much that way. Here he is out for his first kayak ride of the season, beautiful sunny morning, 28degrees. Two hours later it was bucketing down with rain and back down to 20degrees. Ethan is hoping summer arrives soon but they are saying it is going to be a wet one. Good thing he has kept up his swim lessons, he may be swimming to school soon!
In Ethan's Fifty Forth Month he made his 3rd visit to Melbourne. His Daddy had a conference to go to so Ethan and Mummy tagged along for to keep Daddy company. It may seem like nothing to some people out there but for Ethan who LOVES planes, part of the trip he was most looking forward to was the flight there. A 3 hour delay, strong winds and a very rough ride (barf bag in hand but not used...) has still not deterred Ethan's love of planes thankfully.
Taxi's are always fun too...Then a ferry trip once arrived in Melbourne, everything a 4 (and a half) year old boy could possibly wish for in a holiday.
Checking out more boats. As we cruised along the Yarra (Dad was at work and missed out, ha, ha).Ethan checked out the usual sights of Melbourne, Federation Square. And Flinder Street StationThose places were OK but did not come close to 'ScienceWorks', that was awesome! So many cool things to do at Science works but Mummy's favorite was Sports world.
Ethan got to time trial his 25m sprint, look at him go!!! Daddy thinks it will take Ethan a few more years to beat him but Mummy is not so sure...
Then of course, how could Ethan make a trip to Sydney without seeing Jade again. He had almost forgotten her as it had been 2 years since he last saw her but he soon remember just how much he liked Jade and went all silly on her :-)Ethan got to go to Jade's Mum's Christie's 'Tapas & Zumba' Birthday party AND went out to dinner with her on another night. Here are the girls on the dinner night...
And the boys in their hats!Last but not least, Ethan checked out the aquarium in Melbourne. Had to see if it was as good as Sydney's... The big fish tank was good, but no better.Ethan got to check out a tank from inside a bubble, that was cool too, but not better...
Then there were the penguins, WOAH! Sorry to say Sydney Aquarium, they were very much better than the penguins you have... but that is only 1 win for Melbourne, Sydney still RULES!
