EQ celebrated three themed days at his nursery this month. The first of these was 'crazy hair day'. Colour it, gel it, tease it, spike it. Many of you will have seen Dad's attempts at cutting Ethan's hair and figured it was crazy hair every day, but Dad excelled himself with this creation inspired by New South Wales rugby team colours. Go the Blues!
Ethan's third event in as many weeks was a Canada Day, eh. He set aboot the hoose finding all the Canadian regalia he could and helped decorate the rooms of his day care with flags and maple leafs, eh. Many of the children and staff dressed in red and white to honour the occasion and had pancakes with maple syrup as a treat, eh. In true Canadian style Mum, Dad and Ethan finished the day by visiting a pub, this one complete with ice sculpture, fire trees, and strategically placed snow (which was quickly melting in the balmy Sydney winter weather).
Dad is concerned that Ethan is eating him out of house and home so set about finding ways that Ethan could contribute to the family coffers. Thankfully a job came up on the local building site and here we see Ethan carrying 20kg blocks of concrete wearing his Bob the Builder hard hat and fluorescent bib in full compliance with occupational health and safety laws. Can he fix it? Yes he can!
Ethan has transitioned from child to toddler and has become very much his own person so we thought we would offer you a flavor of his latest developmental stage...
Ethan's dislikes:
- Having his nappy changed (a strong dislike of mum and dad too so we are all looking forward to potty training)
Ethan's likes:
- His two and half year old next door neighbour, Ellie
- Thomas the Tank
- Dinosaurs (he recently went a Dinosaur exhibition at the museum)
- 'SS Pa' (his kayak)
- Cooking (see video below)
- Boiled rice
Ethan's favourite things to say:
- No!
- Where's mum/dad gone?
- Why?
Beyond the cot: They say it's a milestone in his life as well as yours! Ethan moved out of his cot a month ago and has been sleeping on the mattress out of the cot and placed on the floor. Dad and Mum could not afford a new bed but did find a disused formula one racing car in the street that suffices as a bed. Ethan complains that sleeping on the exhaust and engine manifold is a little uncomfortable.... brmm, brmmm.
