Fifteenth month

In Ethan’s fifteenth month he had another go at swim lessons. He loved the ocean last summer but had taken a dislike to the lessons last time so we thought we would have another go this session. He did well for about 20 minutes of the 30 minute lesson but then his lips started turning a little blue and he started to shiver… we had to get out of the pool. We’ve decided to opt out of the lessons this session as well, we can always take him to the pool any time for a quick dip without having to freeze through a full lesson. We did manage to get the cute picture before his lips went blue.

Ethan has had a few bad days this month and had to come home early from day care with a slight temperature. We took him to the doctor and he is now recovering from his 3rd ear infection over the last 2 months. He may have gotten a little spoilt through these infections, seems to have taken over his Mum and Dad’s bed at times… But we have put a stop to that and he only sleeps in his bed, don’t want to get into any bad habits we can't get out of later...

Christie and Jade came to visit for a few days from Melbourne, Ethan has grown so much since we last visited Melbourne those 10 months ago. Ethan seems to be turning into a little ladies man, he turned all shy and silly when Jade gave him a cuddle, he seems to have a weakness for beautiful girls!

Ethan still loves day care, keeping very busy, learning and playing with the other children almost forgetting to say good-bye to Mum when she drops him off each morning. He is now feeding himself (whether you wanted him to or not…) and enjoys cooking in the play kitchen, where we find him when we pick him up most evening. He seems to take after his Dad with his joy of cooking. He continues to test his artistic talents, last month with paint, this month a little less of a mess with chalk (by his friend Maddie). He also loves his books and is happy to sit on his own and look or sit in anyone’s lap while they read to him.

And finally… Ethan is saying a few words, at least we think so anyhow. Certainly there is an ‘Oh oh’ said regularly, is that a word? Mama and Dada but not really directed at us, and then there are the odd ‘flowa’ (flower), ‘ca’ (car) & ‘da’ (dog). He does love his dogs, gets very excited every time he see’s one, he starts jumping and squawking, we know what he’ll be wanting in the next few years…
