Eighth Month

In Ethan's eighth month he celebrated his first Christmas. It was very exciting, mostly for Mum and Dad but Ethan soon picked up on their enthusiasm. He was more interested in eating the wrapping paper than the actual presents Santa brought but he was excited just the same... He was very happy with the mango Santa put in his stocking, how did Santa know that was Ethan's favorite food???

After all the Christmas morning fun we went into the city to see all of the Christmas decorations and shop windows then of course finished off the afternoon down by the beach. You can see Ethan and his Mum enjoying the end of Ethan's first Christmas day below.

Ethan made so much progress in the final week of this month, Mum and Dad can hardly believe it. In a matter of days he sat himself up, crawled (proper crawl, not commando) and stood up in his cot. This picture below is the first time he sat up, Mum and Dad were cheering and he was so very proud of himself. He now rolls, sits and crawls continuously, waiting for praise each time :-) It is a double edge sword however, already he has bumps and scrapes from his misjudged movements.

We celebrated New Years eve at home and New Years day at nearby Tarronga Zoo, we are now Zoo friends (annual members). This was certainly a change of pace for Mum and Dad, who are usually getting home after a nights revelry about the same time they were woken up by Ethan this year. In fact, Dad can't remember the last time he spent New Years day without a hang over...

Last but not least, Ethan went for his 8 month check up and is now weighing in at 9.22kg and is 74cm long. He likes to think he is the tallest baby but you can clearly see above there are a few taller babies in the world.
