Sixth Month

Ethan's Sixth month included his first Halloween so our first photo is one of Ethan and his Mum dressed up. Halloween fell on a Tuesday which also happens to be the same day that we meet up with our parents group every week, as well it was our turn to host the get together. Halloween isn't very big in Australia but we convinced everyone to dress up and had our very first Halloween party, it was good fun. Ethan's costume (spider in case you could not tell...) was made by his Mum. She is not much of a sewer but the costume lasted the day and hopefully she will get better over the years.
Ethan has now started on solid food, baby rice, avocado, pumpkin, apple and potato so far. He is not sure about the stuff we are putting in his mouth and what he is meant to do with it (as you can see by the look on his face) but he sure loves chewing on his spoon. Ethan’s Mum started back at work on November 1st so Ethan has now been weaned on to formula for all except his first feed of the day. He seems to be doing fine with the changes in his diet; he continues to gain the weight expected for a boy his age. He weighed in at 7.97kg on his 6 month Birthday (November 3rd).

Mum’s first 3 days back at work involved a trip down to Melbourne which meant Ethan got to spend some quality time alone with Dad. The boys did fine on there own, not sure they even noticed Mum was gone… and look forward to spending Thursdays and Fridays together for the next six months as Dad is now taking some paternity time.
Ethan has started his swimming lessons and just loves it! He’s not really learning to swim… still a little early for that… He just loves bouncing around in the water and singing songs, mainly he just learning not to be afraid of the water and he is doing a great job of that. There are no photos allowed at the pool so this shot is of him in his swimming cozie on the bed practicing his breast stroke.

Ethan is finally rolling both back to front and front to back but he can only roll to the right so that does not help him much when he is in his bed as he runs into the side… Luckily he has now stopped rolling himself in the middle of the night and if he rolls in bed during the day has managed to fall back to sleep on his stomach. He is not far off crawling at all; he can get himself up on all fours and launch himself forward a few inches. He can also pull himself from side to side to reach his toys; it won’t be long now, maybe in his seventh month!
