Forty Fifth Month

In Ethan's Forty Fifth Month he was a star! Well he got a lot of stars as you can see above and those stars were for getting through the night without wetting the bed and without a Nappy! There are a few lines where he didn't make it through but mostly he did great, he quite enjoys waking up and putting his own star before he even calls Mummy to say he is up. He is also fine with admitting his faults, one morning Mummy walked in and he had put the line up himself, Ooopsey Daisey, these things happen sometimes...
Ethan has not been back to soccer tots for any training sessions but has enjoyed a kick around out in the park with his Dad. Seems they are doing some racing at school and there are some kids that are faster than him so he has been practicing his sprints as well. We think he may have picked up some of Mummy/Daddy's competitive nature.
Here he is sprinting across the field, with a few tips from Mummy/Daddy on keeping arms moving forward and knees high, we hear he is beating a few of the kids in races at school AND he actually managed to beat Elly in a race this month, Elly has always been faster than Ethan. Go Ethan Go! Mummy thought she would have a few years before Ethan would out run her but at this rate she is thinking she will hardly be able to stay ahead of him in a sprint until he is 5... Daddy says he remembers beating his Dad (Paw) in a sprint when he was 10 so his goal is to stay faster for another 6 years, good luck Daddy!
Ethan loves dogs (especially after meeting so many in Canada) and loves to hear his Dad tell him stories about his dog 'Brock'. Every day Ethan asks to hear more stories, finally Daddy remembered he had a painting of Brock in storage. So, out came the painting and is now happily hanging right beside Ethan's bed.Ethan's future wife Elly had her 4th Birthday party (an older woman) this month and Ethan had a great time bouncing with her on the trampoline. I don't think Ethan has mentioned his plans to marry Elly in the blog before but ask him any time who he plans to marry and he will tell you Elly. He has even chosen the venue (Sydney's botanical gardens) and what they will each wear (him in a black suit, her in a white dress). Elly is going along with Ethan now, let's just hope she doesn't have any ideas of her own, Ethan seems pretty set in his plans.

January 26th is Australia day and here are Ethan and Mummy out celebrating at Manly beach. You may notice the flag tattoo's are upside down but we are 'down under'. That's Mummy's excuse anyhow, she didn't make a mistake, oh no :-)

Ethan went to see a cool children's band this month called 'Zeeko'. The great part about the band was that everyone had to bring their own instruments and got to play along with them. Ethan sure loves his music and sure enjoyed the band.
Then at the end of the concert he got to get up and try out one of their 'beat boxes', does he look like a cool musician?
Ethan has taken interest in a new sport and got to get out and see one of Mummy/Daddy's friends play. The sport is Cricket and the friend is Matt (Lucien's Dad... we went to Lucien's first Birthday a few months back...) and Matt plays for Manly. Ethan enjoys watching cricket with his Dad, same cannot be said for Mummy. Mummy thinks crickets is the most boring sport EVER (sorry Matt, nothing personal) and if Ethan decides he wants to play... Daddy will be the one taking him every week she says!
Last but not least, Ethan had a special visit from some family friends this month, Paul and Myrna came all the way from Two Mountains (Canada) and spent the day with him. He showed them around his zoo, brought them back to his place for lunch, then showed them around Manly. Paul promised to send through some photos but we think he is to busy with the rest of his amazing retirement holiday... for now we will just add this link to their photos but hopefully we can replace with a photo soon.

=====================================
Well done to everyone on the guessing game we had this month, Ethan most enjoyed reading your comments, we think we should play this game more often...
Congrats to:
- Lou for being the first to reply, shame she missed point and was just asking why there were no stories :-)
- Carenie who actually managed to add her comment on to the blog and we loved hearing about her Grandchildren (Ethan's 2nd cousins by marriage maybe?).
- Casey who picked Brock's name out of the painting and the 4 girls on the trampoline (well spotted!)
- Bobbi for seeing that invisible 'Roo' that was chasing Ethan, reminding us that we did not get any photos from Paul and Myrna yet but no thank yous for thinking Brock was a skunk!!! :-)
- Gramma Lana for coming closest on the reason for the star chart and reminding Ethan of his wonderful shopping trip with her!

Hi Shannon
My guess is Ethan is playing soccor Two of our grandkids play the same game Austin, age 6 and Mia age 12, both play soccor, Mia plays in Sudbury in an indoor arena in the winter and both play outdoors on a legue in the summer Both kids belong to Skye and Kelly Step's children ride and make messes I am sure Ethan doesn't do anything like that. Kelly and Skye went to Jamacia for 9 days and left the 3 children with Terry and I. We live next door so we don't mind at all Hugs to you .Carenie
